Was das WITH FULL FORCE Festival über THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA schreibt:

AUGUST BURNS RED start their WFF 2012 set with "Empire" & "The Truth of a Liar"

Empire
- Skyscrapers, earthmovers, ground breakers. Our buildings rival the heavens. Our bridges span the seas. Ingenuity is so cunning. Innovation is not ours. Creativity is a luxury. We build with our hands what we have in our hearts. // Fight the avalanche. You’ll be buried every time. We run and run and run. Keep falling behind. Fight the avalanche. You’ll be buried every time. We run and run and run. Always last in line. // Before lines were lines, before time was time, the Author wrote a story in the sky, and earth below. Little do we know we have only what we’re given. Light up the sky. (Light up the sky.) We’re going where no man has ever gone. Little do we know we have only what we’re given. Light up the sky. We’re going where no man’s forgotten. // All You are is all we want. It burns inside us all. We’re finding heart in giving soul. We’re walking home into thin air singing.... // Oh, oh, oh.... // We are justice fighters with faces of fire. Many walk away, but we stand firm. We are justice fighters with faces of fire. Our decisions affect our descendants. We are justice fighters with faces of fire. // Skyscrapers, earthmovers, ground breakers. Our footsteps, bringing purpose, changing history. Skyscrapers, earthmovers, ground breakers. Our footsteps, bringing purpose, changing history.

Song commentary by drummer Matt Greiner (via ReviewRinseRepeat.com):
"’Empire’ is a song about the human race using ingenuity as a means of pride and power. The first lines are the same as the last lines in the song; "Skyscrapers, earthmovers, ground breakers." The song portrays a God-given creativity that should be used for bringing about purpose but is so often distorted and manipulated. I initially titled this song, ’Leveler; Make Level The Road For The Righteous,’ but we decided that ’Leveler’ was a much better name for the album, and thus the song was renamed. I was on tour in Florida last year reading Isaiah 26 when I started writing some ideas down about God calling Himself ’Leveler.’ I proposed the idea of using that as the title to the band and it wasn’t hugely popular with everyone. A few weeks later the tables turned and I was the only one that DIDN’T like the title ’Leveler’. With enough time, we were all 100% on board and the title was written in stone. We recorded Leveler with Jason Suecof who also produced and engineered our last record with us. Jason is a genius. He pushed me harder than I’ve ever been pushed in the five days we had to track drums. Instead of always recording the drum parts I had written, Jason pushed me to create fills and beats on the spot. Sick!"

The Truth Of A Liar - Allow what’s done to preach new insight to your life. Hindsight is perfect vision. The past is easiest to see. Clear a path. Stand aside. We’re carrying the torch now. Clear a path. Stand aside. We’re carrying the torch now. Clear a path. Stand aside. There’s no stopping us. Clear a path. Stand aside. We’re carrying the torch now. Clear a path. Stand aside. There’s no stopping us. You might think you’re everything to everyone. Go ahead. Partake in it. Justify it. Become engulfed in it. It will eat you alive. This is not a one way road. You’re headed for the dead end. This is not a one way road. You’re headed for the dead end. You might think you’re everything to everyone. Well pardon me if I intrude. You might think you’re everything TO EVERYONE. You’re not a perfect man in a perfect world. Look at where your ignorance has brought you. All this will be buried. Like the fall of Rome, look at where your ignorance has brought you, you will come crashing down. The truth hurts, the truth hurts, the truth hurts, the truth hurts, the truth hurts, the truth hurts, but denial’s what will kill you. All that you loved, all that you treasure, will pass with time, will pass with time... Blinded by the inability to see beyond flesh and blood. Blinded by the inability to see beyond flesh and blood. Shifting blame with a log in your eye. Insisting that a string tied to your limbs is what’s to blame, is what’s to blame. Suck it up and bite the bullet.

AUGUST BURNS RED finish their WFF 2012 set with "Composure"

Composure
- Shake it off. Pick yourself up, they say. Your life fell apart in your hands, and you’ve got the scars to prove it. It’s not the first time, and they’re getting deeper. Pull it together. Button up your shirt. Roll down those sleeves. Don’t let them see how you’ve coped. It’s not the first time, and they’re getting deeper. More and more your demeanor looks like quicksand. More and more your demeanor looks like quicksand. It seems like you’re giving up, giving up on everything you worked for. It seems like you’re giving up, giving up on everything you worked for. It’s pulling you under. It’s gripping around your throat. It’s pulling you under. It’s gripping around your throat. It seems like you’re giving up on everything. It seems like you’re giving up on everything. It’s pulling you under. IT’S PULLING YOU UNDER. Life can be overwhelming, but don’t turn your back on the strongest crutch you’ve ever had, you’ve ever had. They have always been there to brace your fall. Wave goodbye to the past. You’ve got your whole life to lead. Wave goodbye to the past. You’ve got your whole life to lead. Wave goodbye to the past. You’ve got your whole life to lead. Wave goodbye to the past. You’ve got your whole life to lead. You’ve got your whole life to lead. You’ve got your whole life to lead. It’s time to gain some ground.

AS I LAY DYING - "Reflection" - (Live @ With Full Force 2007)

Reflection
- I laid the night before me, unraveled the tangles of my heart... All I felt was stale hollow air. // These streams of uncertainty, they are collapsing upon my mind... upon my mind. Yaah // Torrents... torrents fill... my veins until I... I burst... I burst with... mistaken guilt and shame. // My battered bones try to keep... fighting against this endless... this ocean of... of self-defeat. // (Everybody off your feet!) As time goes on, some months are yet to pass. As time goes on, some months are yet to pass... As time goes on, some months are yet... are yet to pass. Let’s go. // Puddles, puddles of ink... surround this tired chair. All of... all of my... sorrow has been spilled (Yeah) into... into my... my reflection. Lyrics explanation by vocalist Tim Lambesis: "Reflection describes the dark night that the previous two songs refer to. It is my best effort to write down every emotion that I felt during that time. Even now, the lyrics seem to be the only accurate description I can offer. In the end, everything I felt was the result of the world I had created for myself through selfish living and a lack of sincere sacrificial love."

AS I LAY DYING - "94 Hours" - (Live @ With Full Force 2007)

94 Hours
- 94 hours of regret for me to realize what I held. Unfading beauty, not just a face. I held its innocence within my heart.... (Let the chaos begin) Now.... Now I won’t let...go. I won’t let go. I won’t let go. Now I... I won’t let go. Now I... I won’t let go. The torment of your eyes has awakened my soul.... The torment of your eyes has awakened my soul. The pain of a moment’s time will forever beg your forgiveness... forgiveness. 94 hours for me to realize, I held unfading beauty, I held your innocence.

AS I LAY DYING - "The Darkest Nights" - (Live @ With Full Force 2007)

The Darkest Nights - (Here we go!) For so long I have felt alone, content to live with unrest. Longing faded into countless... nights that buried my weary heart. But You brought an end... to this dead hour, and meaning to a... a calloused life. // Held in Your arms, but too far from my heart. Held in Your arms, but too far from my heart. // These thoughts will carry me through the darkest nights, while Your eyes rest in... These thoughts will carry me through the darkest nights, while Your eyes rest in mine... // I remember the way You looked... at me and the way You drew... drew me close. With one deep sigh, scattering pieces of my... my restless mind, forgetting all that we... we have left behind... we have left behind... we have left behind... we have left behind. // These thoughts will carry me through the darkest nights, while Your eyes rest in... These thoughts will carry me through the darkest nights, while Your eyes rest in... These thoughts will carry me through the darkest nights, while Your eyes rest in... These thoughts will carry me through the darkest nights, while Your eyes rest in.... Lyrics explanation by vocalist Tim Lambesis: "The Darkest Nights is the first of two climactic points in the concept of the record. It is during this song that I have been able to fall in love and pour my heart out into something of worth, but it is the very emotional side of love that this song describes. Regardless, it is this love that was initially able to save me. Knowing how much of this life is meaningless, I experienced a deep sense of sorrow wondering what is worthwile for my heart to pursue. This song describes a feeling that is very momentary but nonetheless provided a memory that was capable of giving me hope through the dark times that would follow."

AUGUST BURNS RED - "Composure" - (Live @ With Full Force 2009)

Composure - Here we go... Yeah... Shake it off. Pick yourself up, they say. Your life fell apart in your hands, you’ve got the scars... to prove it. It’s not the first time, and they’re getting deeper. // (From side to side. Let’s go boys!) Pull it together. Button up your shirt. Roll down those sleeves. Don’t let them see how you’ve coped. // It’s not the first time, and they’re getting deeper... // More and more your demeanor looks like quicksand. More and more your demeanor looks like quicksand. // It seems like you’re giving up... giving up on everything you worked for. It seems like you’re giving up... giving up on everything you worked for. // It’s pulling you under. It’s gripping around your throat. It’s pulling you under. It’s gripping around your throat. It seems like you’re giving up on everything. It seems like you’re giving up on everything. It’s pulling you under. IT’S PULLING YOU UNDER. Yaah... // Life can be overwhelming, but don’t turn your back on the strongest crutch you’ve ever had... you’ve ever had. They have always been there to... brace your fall. // (Sing it with me!) Wave goodbye to the past. You’ve got your whole life to lead. Wave goodbye to the past. You’ve got your whole life to lead. Wave goodbye to the past. You’ve got your whole life to lead. Wave goodbye to the past. You’ve got your whole life to lead.... You’ve got your whole life to lead. It’s time to gain some ground.

THE WHOSOEVERS – [Website] – [Facebook] – [Twitter] – [YouTube]

Imagine people just like us, that were once left for dead…
Now with hope, life, and love…
Connected through a worldwide movement.

No one has to be alone.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

Who We Are
The Whosoevers are a group of leading secular artists who are Christian and have dedicated their lives to reaching unsaved youth and families both inside and outside the church through the sharing of testimonials, music, artwork and other disciplines. Current Whosoevers members are Sonny Sandoval of the band P.O.D., Ryan Ries former Marketing/Team Manager of World Class C1RCA Skateboard Team and director of Exit Concerts, Brian “Head” Welch formerly of the band KORN, Lacey Sturm of the band Flyleaf, Ronnie Fiasst of Metal Mulisha and many others.

What We Do
By partnering with local churches who fully finance and host Whosoever speaking and concert events we are able to connect with a diverse unreachable and unsaved crowd. The Whosoevers also partner with Exit Concerts to put on an annual full production concert, fully supported by both churches and secular sponsors. Past events have reached over 17,000 attendees. The long term goal is to set up Exit Concert events in conjunction with the Whosoevers all over the world.

Our Message
The Whosoevers typically share their undeniable testimonies of how God delivered them from lives of drugs, alcohol, immoral sex, fame, depression, suicide and more, and how they now experience salvation, peace and total fulfillment through Jesus Christ. Their message is raw and moving because they speak the language of today’s youth who are searching for a way out of this world.

Our Motto
Unity Through Humility
“Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” Philippians 2:1-4

Our Mission
“The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.” Luke 4:18
