The Frozen Ocean - "Self-Titled"
Dave Swanson, former guitarist of Life In Your Way | Independent
December 22nd, 2008
The Frozen Ocean is Dave Swanson, former guitarist/background vocalist for Life In Your Way.
1607-1610 Henry Hudson, an Englishman, makes three voyages in search of the Northwest passage to Asia through the Arctic Ocean. On his final expedition on board a ship named Discovery, he entered Hudson Bay and he mapped and explored the shoreline. When the ship became trapped in the ice, they moved ashore for the winter. When the ice cleared in spring, Hudson wanted to continue exploring but his crew wanted to return home. They mutinied, and set Hudson, his son, and some crewmen adrift in a small boat with no food or water. They were never heard from again.

THE FROZEN OCEAN - "The Frozen Ocean" Release Info 2009
So now that the CD is done I thought it would be a good idea to explain it in further detail. Thematically the songs chronicle 3 days and nights in the life of Henry Hudson lost on the Arctic Ocean. The songs go as follows:
Sunset, Day 1 (Lost At Sea)
1st Night (Ghosts)
Sunrise, Day 2 (Atonement)
Day 2 (Swan Song)
Sunset, Day 2 (Men of God)
2nd Night (Hudson’s Dream)
Sunrise, 3rd Day (Wedding)
Day 3 (Siberia)
Sunset, 3rd Day (It is Well)
3rd Night (There is a Light)
As well, you’ll notice different people singing and quite a few members in the "band." This is because I used this album as a chance to record and write with people whom I deeply admire and respect and to have the "band" consist of anyone at a given time. I think this gives a really unique community to the Frozen Ocean projects and allows me freedom to not be constrained to a specific genre.
On a separate note, 10% of every album sold will be donated to an organization called "Blood Water Mission" If you’re not familiar with them, please check them out.

Thanks everyone who reads this, it means the world to me.
