On October 6th, 2009 The Fold will release their third full length CD, entitled Dear Future, Come Get Me. The CD will mark their first independent release, as the band has decided to take matters into their own hands with this latest effort. Singer Daniel Castady states: "It would have been comfortable for us to stay [with our label], but that’s about it. The way things are now, no one besides the band can make or break success, it’s really up to us to make our mark. We’re finally ready to take responsibility and take this thing where we want it to go!” Dear Future, Come Get Me is only available through digital outlets, and in CD form at shows or through the bands official merch store.
Get their CDs, DVDs, vinyls and downloads at our partner stores and support BandsOnFire through it financially.

THE FOLD - "Dear Future, Come Get Me" - Biography 2009
The Fold has released two full-lengths on EMI/Tooth & Nail Records, the latest released May 22nd, 2007; totalling 35,000 sold to date. Directly following the release, the band spent their summer in 2007 on the Vans Warped Tour selling records directly to their fans. They made their success a certainty, selling almost 2,000 CDs on their four-week stint with the tour.
Charging forward with their DIY spirit, The Fold hooked up with friends Plain White T’s and Spill Canvas on their own dollar to support their 2008 sold-out UK tour. The band dominated the merch table, selling 1200 CDs in just two weeks and completely funding their trip – while creating a rabid following all the while.
Upon returning to the US, The Fold left Tooth & Nail with a new vision of what their career should look like, focusing on distributing their music in untapped markets abroad – something that was just not happening in their former label situation.
With their new-found liberation the band headed directly into Tree Sound Studios in Atlanta Georgia with Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount (Cartel, All Time Low, Mayday Parade). The team had always been a major believer in the band, so much so that they jumped at the opportunity of making this record. All parties worked feverishly with the bright future of the band in mind, and in winter 2008 The Fold completed their most single-packed, powerful album to date!
“There are exactly two reasons why I do this: the fans, and the music” says singer/songwriter Daniel Castady. “What we have in the U.S. has grown so strong, it’s like a family that has just been growing and growing over the years, basically just by word of mouth. We’ve loved it, and now we’re excited to build that up all around the world!” The Fold’s average fan is as ravenous as they come, evident at their shows and online.
Accompanying the release, the band dreamt up a contest which successfully fuses YouTube, Twitter and forum style blogging all in one site – with one simple message: If you could stare your future in the face, what would you say?
From DearFutureComeGetMe.com:
On the latest disc, the band looks straight into the future and says "bring it on!" Now, it’s your turn! In the style of the album’s art, submit a picture or YouTube video relaying YOUR message to the future. Be creative, be honest, look at the examples below as a guide; but most importantly, be yourself! The band will pick five (5) winners at the end of November 2009. Four (4) runners-up will receive a free autographed CD, poster and sticker. One lucky grand prize winner will receive all of that plus the new game “Tony Hawk: Ride” which features the bands new single “Neverender”.
