THE BURIAL - "The Winepress" - Biography 2010
From South Bend, IN comes a band fervent in their ministry and unequivocal in their message. The Burial have been making a name for themselves in the midwest and beyond since 2005. After several DIY-tours and a release on Sancrosanct Records, Age of Deceit EP, The Burial are poised for solid growth with their Strike First debut The Winepress. The Burial plays finely executed metal inspired by Becoming the Archetype, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Living Sacrifice, and they’re not inhibited about the substance of their music. "There is a war for your mind and soul, whether you believe or not; an enemy who will stop at nothing to destroy you. At the heart of our music is the worship of a Holy God, and a call to aggressive spiritual warfare." The Winepress will be available on Strike First Records August 17th.

03. The Winepress
This time it’s real. Excuses won’t bring salvation in the eyes of the Lord.
It’s a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. The wrath of God, so long subdued.
His sword will strike true. This world will experience pain the way He did, fulfilling His name.
The Messiah reigns. His glory supreme to all. All Praise be His. His will, His Kingdom.
The Messiah reigns. His glory supreme to all. All Praise be His. His will, His Kingdom.
Oh.... Tear down these walls.... Tear down these walls, abolish what man created.
God won’t be bound by religion and rituals. Leave those to zealots who’ll pay for their sins.
The tower shall fall with their hypocrisy buried beneath His feet.
Treading of the winepress. Blood to the horses’ bridle.
The wrath of God fully revealed. His robes are stained with the lives of the wicked.
The day of judgment is in His heart. The day of redemption has finally come.
He’ll trample the nations in His anger. He’ll pour their blood onto the ground.
He’lll... He’ll pour their blood onto the ground.
Again they cried "Alleluia, praise His name." Again they cried "Alleluia, praise His name."
Our lives are in Your hands, O merciful God. Again they cried "Alleluia, praise His name."

04. Reconciliation
Can you not see the price He paid for your transgressions.
His life, laid down for your undeserving redemption.
We cry out for the truth, but we refuse to hear it.
Our hearts have been sold to the Oppressor himself.
A path set straight for Golgotha.
We led our King to His willing demise,
to bear a burden we could not face ourselves.
I pray the destroying angel passes over your home.
For we have crucified Our Lord, Our God.
And thus, the words of the prophets are fulfilled.
Delivered from the power of darkness.
Our names (our names), engraved on His hands.
My God, my God, why have You forsaken Him.
With one last breath, He gave up the ghost.
And, covered in blood, we are saved from what’s within.
A scapegoat for man’s depravity, this was the only way.
Our salvation lies in the sacrifice of the Worthy Lamb, Jesus Christ.
May His death be a constant reminder...
that in Him, we live, we breathe, we have our being.
In Him, we live. In Him, we breathe. In Him, we live. In Him, we have our being.
How we’ve fallen. Lord, Your arm’s not too short to save, even at our darkest.
I pray we find Your heart and repent, before we perish.
Let the Lamb that was slain receive the reward for His suffering.
08. Death Conquered
As the skies turned black and the world was shaken to its very core,
His chosen people were amazed at the words that they ignored.
The day, the time were in their hands. Yet they did not prepare for His arrival.
They saw the Lord Himself.
But even now, in our present lives, creation groans for its restoration.
A sinful fall. Deceitful lies. There is need for our salvation.
But we are not without hope.
So let us come to the throne of the One who sympathizes with our iniquities.
For we are not without hope. For we are not without hope.
I know my Redeemer lives, and will again stand upon this earth.
After my skin is destroyed, in my flesh, I shall see God.
The same Spirit that rose Him from the dead now dwells within us.
To save us from the bonds of death that had once enslaved us.
The same Spirit that rose Him from the dead now dwells within us.
To save us from the bonds of death that had once enslaved us.
His name we praise.
The flames of Hell, they knew my name. And in their fire, my sins consumed me.
But there He was, One without blame. And in His hands, He held the keys.
Death, where is your victory? Where is your sting?
Christ conquered the grave. Now bow to your King.
Death, where is your victory? Where is your sting?
Christ conquered the grave. Now bow to your King.
Death, where is your victory? Where is your sting?
Christ conquered the grave. Now bow to your King.
