SEVENTH AVENUE - Biography 2008 (English)

The German melodic metalheads SEVENTH AVENUE can already look back on quite some history and show well, that bands are last noticed in their home country. Already in 1989 the band was founded and released a demo tape. After several line-up changes the demo "First Strike" led them to their first record deal. In 1994 the debut album "Rainbowland" was relesed. Following the releases the singer left the band and from that time guitarist and mastermind Herbie Langhans took over the vocals. With their debut the band got a deal with Treasure Hunt Records in 1996. The second album "Tales of Tales" did well already, reaching rank 18 in the Japanese metal charts. The third album "Southgate" was released in 1998 and brought the band a great status in South America and Japan. In Europe the limited possibilities of their small label didn’t help the band much forward. After Geronimo Stade (bass) and Florian Gottsleben (guitars) joined the band a new deal was signed with the Brazilian label Megahard Records. The band is very popular in Brazil and played a three-week Brazilian tour in the fall of 2002. SEVENTH AVENUE then signed with Massacre Records, ready to conquer Europe! The album "Between the Worlds" was recorded from November 2001 until April 2002 at Woodwind studios, vocals were produced by Victor Smolski (Rage), the mastering was done in the Skywalk Studio and was followed by the even more successful “Eternals” album in 2004.

SEVENTH AVENUE now for the first time in their band history present an outstanding conceptual album delivering a complex fantasy story. The new work entitled "TERIUM" impressingly proves the musical progression of the band in the last years. Not only with a playing time of over 70 minutes but also with a wide range of songs as never heard before. The new album was produced completely in the bands’ own Ave-studio and produced and mixed by Herbie Langhans alone. TERIUM was again mastered by Sascha Paeth at Gate Studios. The artwork was given into the hands by the Colombian artist Felipe Machado who delivered an impressing work. After almost two years of songwriting and story concept the band is very proud of their new album and now looks forward to be back in the Live-sector as well and hope that fans will love "TERIUM".

Die deutschen Melodic Metaller von SEVENTH AVENUE können bereits auf eine bewegte Vergangeneheit zurückblicken und bestätigen die Formel vom Propheten, der im eingenen Land nichts gilt. Bereits 1989 wurde die Band gegündet und veröffentlichte Demos. Nach einigen Besetzungswechseln kann mit dem Demo "First Strike" der erste Deal ergattert werden. Als das Debut "Rainbowland" dann 1994 erscheint, verlässt der damalige Sänger die Band und seitdem übernahm Gitarrist und Bandkopf Herbie Langhans auch die Vocals. Mit ihrem Debut in der Tasche unterschrieben SEVENTH AVENUE 1996 bei Treasure Hunt Records. Das zweite Album "Tales of Tales" lief bereits erfolgreich und schaffte es in Japan sogar auf Platz 18 der Heavy Metal Charts. Das dritte Album "Southgate" erschien 1998 und machte die Band in Japan und Südamerika schon zu kleinen "Stars", in Europa jedoch waren der Band bei ihrem kleinen Label Grenzen gesetzt. Nachdem Geronimo Stade als neuer Bassist und Florian Gottsleben als 2. Gittarist das Line-Up verstärkt hatten, unterschrieben SEVENTH AVENUE Anfang 2001 bei dem brasilianischen Label Megahard Records. Der Bekanntheitsgrad der Band in Brasilien ist enorm und die Band spielte im Herbst 2002 eine mehrwöchige Brasilien-Tour. Mit der Unterschrift bei Massacre Records ist nun für SEVENTH AVENUE die Zeit gekommen, nach Japan und Südamerika auch Europa in Angriff zu nehmen, was mit dem Album „Eternals“ (2003) auch eindrucksvoll gelang.

SEVENTH AVENUE präsentieren das erste mal in der Bandgeschichte eine Konzeptstory der Extraklasse, in der es um eine Fantasystory mit bekannten Parallelen geht. Das neue Werk mit dem Namen "TERIUM" zeigt ganz klar die Weiterentwicklung der Band in den letzten Jahren. Nicht nur über 70 Minuten Spielzeit sondern auch eine Songvielfalt wie noch nie in der Geschichte der Band. Die neue Scheibe wurde wieder im hauseigenen Ave-Studio produziert. Herbie Langhans produzierte die CD dieses Mal komplett im Alleingang und machte auch den Final Mix. TERIUM wurde anschließend wieder von Sascha Paeth im Gate Studio gemastert. Für das Artwork bot sich der kolumbianische Künstler Felipe Machado an, der einen guten Job gemacht hat. Nach fast zwei Jahren Songwriting und Storykonzept, sowie ein Jahr Aufnahmen freuen sich Seventh Avenue sehr über ihr neues Werk und sind sichtlich stolz auf die vollbrachte Arbeit. Nun freuen sich SEVENTH AVENUE auch wieder Live für ihre Fans da zu sein, und hoffen natürlich darauf das die Fans TERIUM gut annehmen werden!
