Solid State Records Podcast
by Tobe | 0 comment | #The two latest editions of the Solid State Records Podcast on iTunes feature some great interviews you shouldn’t miss! The Solid State Alumni Bands Edition on the one side includes interviews with former Strongarm vocalist Jason T. Berggren (vocalist on their "Atonement" album and to be seen in this music video for the song "Trials"); Unashamed [MySpace|Facebook|Twitter] vocalist Jeff Jacquay (the band recently re-united in early January, two live videos can be watched here and here!); former Beloved bassist Johnny Smrdel (now bassist of Advent); and former ZAO guitarist (and later on The Juliana Theory founder and vocalist/guitarist) Brett Detar. Also featured in the podcast (without interviews) are Focal Point, the hardcore band Ryan Clark (vocalist of Demon Hunter) played guitar in when he was 14 years old (!), as well as Training For Utopa, which Ryan Clark started together with his older brother (and former Demon Hunter guitarist) Don, with whom he runs the graphic design company Invisible Creature. Speaking about Ryan Clark brings us to the second newly released Solid State podcast edition, Demon Hunter "The World Is A Thorn" Podcast - Episode 1, which has Ryan talk about the development and meanings of the first three tracks from the upcoming new Demon Hunter record "The World Is A Thorn". He talks about the songs "Descending Upon Us," "LifeWar," and "Collapsing" (the latter featuring Björn "Speed" Strid of Soilwork on guest vocals), for which short clips can be heard throughout the podcast. Today - "Bow Before The Scene" Prayer Day!
by Tobe | 0 comment | #Today, Saturday February 6th, "Bow Before The Scene" is taking place again - a day of unity and prayer, bringing together music-loving Christians wordwide to pray for bands and the music scene. Watch this short video clip by John Piper: "Prayer Causes Things..."!
We have meanwhile created new pages for "Bow Before The Scene" on Facebook and Twitter. Please add and follow us on there to stay connected! Make sure to also add "Bow Before The Scene" on MySpace if you haven’t yet. On Facebook you can also read a note from P.O.D. frontman Sonny Sandoval that he originally posted on the "Bow Before The Scene" MySpace profile!
Prayer has Power and you praying does matter, so let’s get on our knees and bow down in unity worldwide. Get together with your friends or hang out with God by yourself and let us pray with one voice. In respect for the people who create our favorite music, let us lift up all those bands in prayer and through that make a difference that is seen in the spiritual world. Let us welcome the Holy Spirit and get together in the name of Jesus to bring glory to God’s kingdom!
