BANDSONFIRE will be DEAD in 9 DAYS if you don’t DONATE!
by Tobe | 0 comment | #Okay folks, here’s the facts. We are almost there reaching our fundraising goal, but only got nine (9) days left until we need the money in the bank. Otherwise the financial burden will ultimately crush my efforts to keep the site alive.
As of today 110 people from the U.S., Canada, Germany, Australia, Netherlands, Great Britain, Switzerland, Austria, New Zealand, Poland, Czech Republic, France, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Spain have donated a total amount of 3400 Euro. The highest single donations were 250 Euro from Norway, 200 USD from Canada and 157 Euro from Germany.
If every visitor of BandsOnFire would donate, then the fundraising goal of 5000 Euro could easily be met, so the question still is: Do you want to keep BandsOnFire alive? If you don’t donate, this website will die, it’s as simple as that. So the future of BandsOnFire.com still lies in your hands.
BandsOnFire.com has always been about and for you, so we can only do this together. Without your support it simply won’t be possible to continue to serve you in the future!
As already written on June 26, I’ve been working on the relaunch of the site with our new webmaster in the meantime, and we’ll keep our promise: "You can be sure that the new site will bring everything to the next level in terms of usability, design, and everything else that we all find important regarding our personal favorite music."
So technically BandsOnFire.com can and will survive – but only IF we will reach the fundraising goal.
In addition to your vitally needed donations you can also help by sharing this matter with your friends and spreading the word through Facebook , Twitter , MySpace etc. For graphics to use and more info on that please click here!

Funds Declaration (why 5000 Euro?)
by Tobe | 0 comment | #For a few of you it wasn’t clear what the money that we’re currently raising was initially used for, so I wanted to explain it to you, so you understand for what you donate. Quoting from my letter: "Instead of going for a full-time job or full-time study, I put all my focus on building up BandsOnFire and worked part-time jobs, very similar to how many touring bands do it, only with the difference that I couldn’t meet any people on the road like these bands that I was promoting did. [...] Throughout the years I’ve had financial expenses that can be equated with education expenses the majority of you have respectively have had to pay as well. The only difference is that I won’t ever make enough money that can pay back those expenses, simply because BandsOnFire is not a business, but a ministry with no financial income." Over the last five years working the site as a part-time job, I had your normal living expenses like rent, food, etc. which you can’t cover if you don’t work a full-time job. So if you do the math, 5000 Euro divided by 5 years makes around 85 Euro per month for me working the site as a part-time job. Those who think this is inappropriate still, feel free to read my responses here!

BANDSONFIRE will be DEAD in 2 weeks if you don’t DONATE!

As of today 80 people from the U.S., Canada, Germany, Australia, Netherlands, Great Britain, Switzerland, Austria, New Zealand, Poland and Spain have donated a total amount of 2500 Euro. The highest single donations were 200 USD from Canada and 157 Euro from Germany.

Status Update on Donations
by Tobe | 0 comment | #Hey guys and girls. Four weeks have gone by since the last update (if you’ve missed it, make sure to read it!). Like I’ve written before: To avoid the situation that I will have to pay (unnecessary) interest rates after August 2010 ("money thrown down the drain"), we still need to raise the total amount of 5000 Euro before the end of August 2010. Otherwise the financial burden will ultimately crush my efforts to keep the site alive.
As of today 65 people from the U.S., Canada, Germany, Australia, Netherlands, Great Britain, Switzerland, Austria, New Zealand and Spain have donated a total amount of 2200 Euro. The highest single donations were 200 USD from Canada and 157 Euro from Germany.

2010 FIFA World Cup - Matisyahu - P.O.D.
by Tobe | 0 comment | #This great song from Matisyahu, "One Day" (non-U.S. residents watch on Facebook or on his website), was played right after almost every game in the stadiums at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, when the teams were still on the field – some celebrating, some grieving. Here’s a few other links for you to check out as well: "One Day" (2010 FIFA World Cup Edit) | "One Day" (Pop Edit) Music Video (non-U.S. residents watch here). In 2005 Matisyahu worked together with P.O.D. on their track "Strength of My Life", which appeared on P.O.D.’s album Testify. Be sure to check out the Audio Song Commentary by P.O.D. for this song, from the Limited Edition 2CD Digibook edition of the album. Congrats to our Spanish visitors for winning the World Cup for the first time, even though I rooted for our (Germany’s) neighbors from the Netherlands. 2014 in Brazil the final will be Holland-Germany – at least that’s what I’m hoping for :-) - P.O.D.
