1. Tides
At this crossroads in my mind, I’m running out of time. I’m standing still, the world flies by. Ties untied. Unblind eyes widen. New born life is raised and dies. The truth endures, the truth lives through this. Birth, death all of this. But amidst this grace, we make mistakes. Reason is washed and delivered. A price is determined - a price is paid. The free were once the slaves.
2. Turning Point
"This time around". Take steps in my shoes, realize what it’s like to crash and burn, upon re-entry. I’m starting again with this chapter, resurfacing with new values. Forward, not turning back. Emptying my regrets onto the world. I’ve paid my price for the last time. I’ve paid my price for the last time. You don’t understand, wake up and listen in. You might find I’m only human: that means I’ve failed. But it’s not too late for me to find my way. I’ll do this by destroying myself, myself. Old times, old thoughts, I throw them all away. I’ll turn this around: I set a course. And even when everything dies all around me: There is hope. In hope I place my trust. Where men have failed to live up to their promises. I’m guilty of that and so much more. When you breathed life into this ungrateful child. Did you think he’d end up this way? If I find you, will you forgive me? Instead of my shaking hands... Our future rests in something greater. In a steady grip that will not fail. Help us now.
3. Navigators
Everything you’ve done will come back to haunt you. To remind you of what we are and how we’ve changed, since we began to speak, since we began to breathe (but have we grown or fallen asleep?) Maybe we could see, if we weren’t so blinded by everything before we knew, like fools. Like sailing mists we failed this ship, we made, was broken at the core. What am I supposed to do but put my trust in you? To navigate (to get through to you). Clutching at these straws, so this is what I am. I was nothing more than what you wanted me to become. You wanted me to become a fugitive to myself, or someone else. A fragment of the altitudes. Godspeed, onward now, before your luck runs out. But will we make it out alive? Alive, make it out alive. After all is said and done, who walked away? We share this dream, but for how long? I fear for you and for your faith. I’m just as weak (what do we need). I’m well and truly in the brakes. Up to my neck in a sea of shame. Now we look up high, for a guiding light. "Guide us home right through this storm." Find our way. We’ll still be apart, but it’s safe to say. We’ll both end up in the same place. Clutching at these straws, so this is what I am. I was nothing more than a reminder of what you could be.
4. Clarity
(Instrumental)
5. Passenger
You should have left me out on my own, to teach me some humility. But instead you took me in to a place where I did not belong. White walls receeding, calling me, blameless skies that chant my name. I won’t return, I’ll stay far away from you, forgotten in my shame, its weight too much to bear, I’ll fight these feelings until the end. I can’t go back until i’m absolved. Until my feet are anchored strong. Until my meaning is found in you. Until we strive to see who we really are. Show us who we are - and where we’re going. We’re halfway there, show us our path. Defend our countless tasks, preserve and endure. We will go through life with these hands tied, endlessly searching. (We see ourselves from the outside). From the outside looking in, we see our future ready to begin.
6. Further From The Truth
Don’t turn your back on me. When I need you to pull me through. Show me the way to truth - Show me what I should do. I’ve not abandoned you. No one is perfect in this world. So set me free to become what you want me to be. Right from the start (in our hearts) we find trust... directionless. We know silence can stop the pain. But that’s not for me. I will live, I will change, I do this for myself, I do this for our future, I take the stand. Somehwere lost in time - dialect lost again, no contact, my love was spent. I’ve learned to cut away the past and let it not affect this. Here’s to mistakes and regrets, I throw you away goodbye, goodbye. Nothing is certain, except that tomorrow I will start again. So I’m on my knees, begging for peace, longing for rest but I get none (what is left). Where are we now? And where will we go? I ask these questions because sometimes I’m not so sure. If we are so free why are we hopeless? We forgot where we came from. We lost this sense of who we are. We have no direction. We’re losing sight of the truth. Time will heal or abandon us, it’s our choice. Where are the braves, where are the chosen ones? Step to the plate and make this yours - a time is coming for transition. A time for heroes, a time to make things right. A time for sinners to become saints by moves they make. It’s not too late for change. It’s never time to walk away. With these young hands we hold old times, we learn our rules and live our lives. We are all heroes in our own way.
